19th century French coconut cup beautifully carved with a portrait of a man wearing a sales suit and cravat also with curly hair, typical of the fashion around the 1830 to 1840. The rest of the body of the coconut cup profusely carved with shallow soft relief of a sprays of flowers 1840. The cup is mounted on and Elkington electroplated base 1840 to 1860.
